The Tram Sheds
Location Sheffield
Date of Explore 14/04/17
The old tram system shut down in October 1960, then reopened again in 1994, replaced by the supertram but it's rumoured this maintenance depot was never used again and all new tram sheds were built to house and maintain the supertram.
Not much remains of the old sheds, just the shell of the main sheds, an old platform and the steel frame of another large old shed, but there is a lot of truly epic graffiti.

Opened in 1988, the Ski Village was believed to be the largest artificial ski resort in Europe, hosting 8 slopes, sports shop, bar, restaurant, half pipe, hip jump, kicker, quarter pipe, various grind rails, and toboggan run. In 2012 it was closed due to accidental fire, then after closure the site was victim to over 50 arson fires.
Now only the destroyed remnants of the slopes, debris from the buildings and rubbish from fly tippers remains.

G. H. White & Co. Ltd. is a heat treatment works based in the city of Sheffield. The business now trades under the name of Special Steel Co. following a merger between two companies and currently operate out of their new premises on Bacon Lane. The company’s original site opened on Earl Street in 1939 due to growing tensions between the Allies and the Nazis. After war was declared in 1939, Sheffield quickly became one of the main cities centred on producing steel and armaments. Like most factories at the time, EON Works contributed to the war effort. However, it only operated successfully for about a year before it was damaged by bombs sometime in December 1940 during the Sheffield Blitz. After the war ended, the building was repaired and continued to operate as a heat treatment works, specialising in heat treating metals primarily for cutlery production.
